Larry Ketang and Liam White met whilst working in the same inner-city school. They made a comedy short in response to a short film competition and fell in love with filmmaking. They have been working ever since, making sketches and short films, developing their style and trying to grow their filmmaking network from scratch.
They set up Falsetooth Films in 2018, and their first short, ‘Tick Tick Tick‘ got them off to a strong start. It was picked up by the BFI and showcased as part of their Northern Exposures event in 2020, and went on to be selected for the BAFTA and BIFA-qualifying Norwich Film Festival.
They now have four shorts in the can under the Falsetooth banner (please check out the ‘Films‘ page for further details), and have completed development of their fifth, ‘Pickles‘ with funding from BFI NETWORK. Pickles contains the directing duo’s trademarks: realistic-sounding characters in plausible yet heightened situations, moral conundrums, entertaining films that ask big questions, and lashings of black comedy.
