Larry Ketang and Liam White met whilst working in the same inner-city school. They made a comedy short in response to a short film competition and fell in love with filmmaking. They have been working ever since, making sketches and short films, developing their style and trying to grow their filmmaking network from scratch.
They set up Falsetooth Films in 2018, and their first short, ‘Tick Tick Tick‘ got them off to a strong start, being selected by several BAFTA and BIFA-qualifying festivals and winning Best Comedy at Sunderland Short Film Festival in 2021.
They now have five shorts in the can under the Falsetooth Films banner (see the ‘Films‘ page for further details). To date, their intense short film Punch-Drunk starring Barry Ward & Corin Silva, was Long-Listed for a BAFTA, and has been selected by three BAFTA/BIFA/Oscar qualifying festivals including Raindance, whilst their jet-black comedy ‘Doughnut’ played at six BAFTA/BIFA/Oscar qualifying festivals and also featured on Short Of The Week.
Their last short film, ‘Pickles‘ was completed with funding from BFI NETWORK and won Best Comedy Short at City of Angels Women’s Film Festival in 2021. All the Falsetooth Films projects contain the directing duo’s trademarks: realistic-characters in heightened situations, moral conundrums, with lashings of black-comedy, receiving high acclaim from the likes of Ken Loach, Ben Wheatley, and Maxine Peake.
